Re-investing where we live and work

At DigiCOPY, we strive to play a vital role within each community we serve. We support many community based organizations through donations, volunteers, sponsorships, and non-profit pricing. Here are just some of the ways we are re-investing where we live and work.

Veterans Day Cards

Veterans-day-card

In honor of Veterans Day, DigiCOPY in Stevens Point, Wausau, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Eau Claire & La Crosse distributed complimentary Veterans Day cards and envelopes to customers and community members. The red, white and blue Veterans Day cards were available through Veterans Day on November 11th.

"We are grateful for the dedicated service of our veterans and grateful for the loyal customers we have in the Stevens Point and Wausau areas," said Craig Shuler, DigiCOPY president and CEO. "We wish to share our gratitude by providing the complimentary Veterans Day cards…and for the cost of a stamp or the time it takes to hand deliver a card, we hope Wisconsin will express their 'thanks' to those neighbors, family members and friends who have served or continue to serve their country."

Jon Lee with Shield

3D printing

Jon Lee, store manager of the DigiCOPY Erie Street location, has taken his expertise in 3D printing and is crafting reusable face shields for the health care industry. There is an increasing demand for PPE and this particular safety device greatly reduces any droplet exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in first-responder scenarios.

"The main headband of the face shield is 3D printed from PLA (polylactic acid) in a clean environment. Two units are produced every 8 hours," Lee said.

"When done printing, the main structure is then washed with a highly concentrated mixture of 99% isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. The shield component is donated by DigiCOPY and is made from the 10 mil thick clear poly covers we use for book bindery - this is also sanitized the same way. Finally, rubber bands are used to affix the shield to one's head (has loops on the print to adjust comfort)," Lee adds.

The final pieces are then misted with disinfectant, sealed in bags, and then shipped. The whole assembly is reusable, and can be cleaned with alcohol or bleach mixtures.
